Top 10 Albums Of 2017.

Sigh, there was a lot of good music released this year.
From comebacks to debuts, 2017 was start to finish a great soundtrack.
These are my top ten albums of 2017.
No particular order of course.

Counterfeit are still fairly new to the British music scene. But that hasn't stopped them creating a powerful and fiesty debut album. Together We Are Stronger is filled with punch-you-in-the-guts lyrics, sung by raw, raspy vocals, all thrown together by furious an dimpressive musicians. A throwback to when rock was powerful and music was dangerous, this album is covered in strong messages that will bring goosebumps to your arms.

Release Date: March 2017
Personal Favourites: "For The Thrill" "Enough" "Letters To The Lost"

The long awaited arrival of Paramore's fifth studio album was completely worth it.
After Laughter is the first set of songs since bassist, Jeremy Davis' departure and drummer Zac Farro's return, so naturally the songs shift from dark and moody lyrics accompianed by bright and vibrant melodies.
The lyrics are about mental health, break ups and being generally pissed off at life.
Mixing Nu Wave with their classic pop punk sound, the return sees Paramore heading in a new direction all while staying true to their roots.

Release Date: May 2017
Personal Favourites: "26" "Rose Coloured Boy" "Pool" "Fake Happy"

When One Direction announced they were taking a break and were going to focus on their solo music, it was arguably Harry Styles that  we were most excited to hear from.
Taking inspiration from classic rock -Bowie, The Doors and Augustana- his self titled album has lost the squeaky, clean style of 1D. His music has an edge which suits his deep, raspy voice perfectly.
Honestly, it's no surprise this one made my list.

Release Date: May 2017
Personal Favourites: "two Ghosts" "Only Angels" "Woman" "Kiwi"

This is the most important album to come out in 2017. In fact, a long time. And you can fight me on that.
After a traumatic legal battle with her ex-producer, Rainbow shows a new beginning for Kesha.
This lady went through a nightmare, but she came out the other side ready to start afresh. With lyrics like "I hope your soul is changing" shows that despite the hatred most wouuld feel- she's matured, hoping her old producer can see the eroor of his ways and change for the best.
The lyrics are strong and powerful, the voice, raspy and beautiful. These songs are filled with passion and feelings.
There's not a bad song on here.

Release Date: August 2017
Personal Favourites: Legit the whole album- I meant when I said there's not a bad song on here.

This is the solo album we've been waiting a long time for. It was completely worth it.
No Oasis remake, Liam Gallagher has blended slickness with his raspy, rough voice and ballsy attitude, but thrown in fun and dream like in places for good measure.
Filled with his classic and unapologetic britpop swagger, As You Were, is is start to finish festival worthy.
And with the highest first week record sales in 20 years, and outselling the rest of the UK Top 10 albums combined, it's not just me that's happy for Gallagher's comeback.

Release Date: October 2017
Personal Favourites: "Paper Crown" "For What It's Worth" "Wall Of Glass"

I don't think I need to talk anymore about how amazing The Maine are.
Lovely Little Lonely is their sixth full length album, and arguably, their best.
Urghh, just listen to it. It's perfect. They're perfect.

Release Date: April 2017
Personal Favourites: "Taxi" "Black Butterflies & Deja Vu" "How Do You Feel?" "Lost In Nostalgia"

Another pop punk band taking a slight turn in new direction this year is All Time Low
Whilst 2015's Future Hearts saw them experimenting with pop sounds, Last Young Renegades is a step up.
Singer Alex Gaskarth's vocals are subdued and dreamlike, whilst big choruses and loud, fast guitars are reminiscent of their previous work.
This album will work wonders at any concert.

Release Date: June 2017
Personal Favourites: "Darkside Of Your Room" "Nice2KnoU" "Last Young Renegades"

Another one from a One Direction member.
The boy band sensation didn't show off Niall Horan's full potential, but his debut album, Flicker, does.
Whilst other 1D member's have taken to the EDM or Rock route, Horan mixes his homegrown Irish elements with Ed Sheeran- Style acoustic, to create a sultry and dreamlike.
Inspired by The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac, his debut is full of sleek and funk, a perfect folk-pop album, with a bit of rock thrown in for good measure.

Release Date: October 2017
Personal Favourites: "On The Loose" "Seeing Blind"

As It Is had a lot to live up to after their debut album, Never Happy Ever After, but after travelling back in time to a 50's inspired aesthetic, Okay may have just done it.

Sticking with their fun pop punk style, the drums are prominent and guitars, funky, while the lyrics are relatable but almost gut wrenching-ly hard to hear. Although their are a couple of songs which would work wonders for a fun, summer road trip, many are about mental health and hard family relationships.

Release Date: Januray 2017
Personal Favourites: "Okay" "Soap" "No Way Out" "The Coast Is Where Home Is"

Haim's follow up to debut, Days Are Gone, wasn't going to be an easy one. And after four years in the making, Something To Tell You, shows they have more to offer.
The trio of LA sisters know what they're good at -blending 70's boho with a modern day soft rock sound- yet their new music is a little more dreamy, a little more ballsy in places, with a bittersweetness added to the lyrics.
It's like Days Are Gone on fire.

Release Date: July 2017
Personal Favourites: "Kept Me Crying" "Want You Back" "You Never Knew"
