Top 10 Albums Of 2016.

This year has been a little, well, shit.
There's not really a good way of putting that.
From political arguments to way, way too many deaths, 2016 has been tough for all of us.
On a good note though, there have been some absolute stonkers on the music scene.
Legends returned while newbies marked their name, these are my top ten favourite albums of 2016.
No particular order of course.

I'll Make It To The Moon If I Have To Crawl.

Now, there are a select few bands that are on my bucket list to see: The Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters and Nirvana. Al though that last one is definitly not going to happen.

Monday finally marked the night that I saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers live.
My friend and I have been big fans of them for quite a few years now, so when they announced a UK tour for December, we jumped on the ticket websites. After, a long, stressful ticket-buying venture (I'm not even kidding, never spent so long trying to get tickets!) we finally managed to snag some.

We went up with her mum who is also a big fan of theirs, and had the best time ever.
Our seats were quite far back but they were dead centre, so we had a really great view.

Babymetal were supporting and, well, they were an experience...
RHCP were incredible live! They have so much energy and sound exactly like the recordings.
Absolutely perfect night and I'm so happy to finally cross these guys off my bucket list.
If you ever get the chance to see RHCP live -do it!

Much love.

Love, Courtney | Winter 2016

At the end of last year Courtney Love released a gorgeous line with Nasty Gal.
This year she's come back for round two. And it is just as beautiful.

If you read my post on last winter's collection, you'll know I was completely head over heels in love with every piece.
Inspired by Love's own style, the collection is glamorous yet grungy, nostalgic yet timeless.
Hole's front woman has described her collections as "bad ass lingerie you can wear all day", and it definitely promises that.

The 90's are a super influential decade when it comes to fashion, with Love being highly regarded for her style. Her famous rock 'n'roll chick x dishevelled prom queen theme makes up the most this collection, and I'm sure her wardrobe, with almost every piece being versatile and adaptable.
Think babydoll dresses, satin slips, fishnet tights, kimonos and leather jackets. Throw a ton of jewellery and some sparkly platforms, and you've found a style even Courtney would be envious of.

The capsule starts from £13 is available exclusively from Nasty gal.

Now I'm going to destroy my bank account whilst making all my 90's dreams come true.

Hollister + Sydney.

Echosmith's lead singer, Sydney Sierota, has just released a collection with Hollister, and lets just say it's pretty damn beautiful!!

I'm a big of Echosmith and love Sydney's style, so I was very excited to hear the announcement that she had teamed with Hollister.

The collection consists of eleven versatile pieces, each designed by Sierota, with her personal style and LA's vintage stores being a huge inspiration.
A rocker chic capsule that's perfect for the upcoming party season, expect glitter and sequins galore!
Depending on how you mix and match the pieces, they can be worn for so many different occasions. From that date with a cute boy, all the way to that big New Years Eve party you've got planned!
The singer has designed a collection perfect for having fun and being carefree, and of course, dressing up, even if you don't have a reason!

The collection went on sale last week online and in select Hollister stores.

Dear River Phoenix,

Dear River Phoenix,
I remember the first time I saw you. A cigarette half in your mouth, cheekbones carved for days and that close cropped mousy blonde hair.
Stand By Me was beautiful. But it was more than that- I fell in love with you.

I remember looking you up online and found all these pictures of you, some from Stand By Me, some from your other films. You were young, vulnerable yet tough at the same time. And then I saw that you'd died.
You were twenty three.
I think my heart skipped a beat, maybe  the world stopped for a second.

Whenever I watch your films, your interviews, there's an energy like I've never felt before.
I never met you, but I want to pull you out of the screen and talk with you for a while.
Nothing else. Just talk. About anything and everything.

You've been gone for as long as you were on this earth.
I turned twenty three last month. The same age as you will always be.
You were a boy. A boy who never got the chance to show the world everything else you had to offer.
I remember finding out that you'd died. That was the moment I realised what could happen to innocence.

I don't believe your death was fate, or karma, or destiny. Whatever you want to call it.
I believe it was a fluke, a mistake, a glitch. Something terrible that should never have happened.

I've learned so much about living because of you.
You were a beautiful soul, a work of art. Gentle and kind. Loving and caring.
Forever twenty three.
Thank you for everything.

We Need To Talk About... Margot Robbie

We need to talk about Margot Robbie.
I am ridiculously in love with her right now. A cool Aussie, chick who is hilarious and has excellent fashion sense.
Margot's become pretty famous since her roles in Wolf of Wall Street, and Suicide Squad, but I'm here to talk about her style.
Boho, hippie, comfy and casual yet very girly. What's not to love?! In particular, I LOVE the black playsuit/ pink kimono out fit in the second set.
Her outfits appear effortless yet she always looks incredible. Like the first photo of her at Brisbane airport, so simple and comfy but super stylish.

I think the whole world is getting major girl crush vibes right now.
Much Love.

Review | My Little Box October 2016

"Start spreading the news, I'm leaving today. I want to be apart of it, New York, New York!"

Across the pond lies the fabulous getaway, New York. Manhattan gets all the attention, but let's be honest, the real magic lies within Brooklyn.
Filled with charming cafes, indie boutiques, artisanal coffee shops and that famous red brick walls. Just add in their creative, cool hipsters and you it's easy to tell why My Little Box has grown rather fond of Brooklyn. So fond in fact, they've dedicated October's box to them!

Eat Smart.

Yesterday, I hopped on a train to Brighton to meet Niomi Smart.
Youtuber, blogger and now a proud owner of  her very own recipe book, Niomi is currently in the middle of a book signing tour for Eat Smart.
Full of plant-based recipes, Eat Smart has a simply gorgeous layout and design, is very easy to read and therefore, easy to make recipes. Inside she explains more about certain foods, what they are good for and why you need them in your diet.

I was going to buy her book anyway, so when she announced the book tour, I figured it would be a fun afternoon in Brighton -which, as you all know by now, is one of my favourite places.
Niomi was so lovely, even if I didn't get long to chat with her. She is absolutely beautiful and is literally glowing with positivity and health.
When she discusses health and fitness, it's easy to be encouraged to get your butt in gear and make better decisions regarding food.

If you're interested, tickets for Niomi's book tour can be purchased here.

Much love.

"A Good Thing Never Ends"

So.... I went to Exhibitionism again.
My brother wanted to go and I figured it was amazing the first time around, so why not go again.
I came out feeling just as inspired and in awe as before.
If you want to read more about Exhibitionism read my first blog post here.

After the exhibition, we went to Bill Wyman's restaurant, Sticky Fingers. The food incredible and I highly recommend going there if your in the Kensington area. Then we went for a walk around Notting Hill, Kensington Gardens (where I dragged my brother to see the Peter Pan statue again) and then down Oxford Street, before getting the train home.

Exhibitionism was an incredible and inspiring experience. It's now left London, but it will be travelling to 11 citiesaround the world. If you're a fan of the Stones, keep an eye out for when it's near you.

Reading & Leeds 2016 | My Recommendations.

In the UK we two MAJOR festivals. Ok, maybe technically it's three. Glastonbury and Reading and Leeds. (Reading and Leeds kinda counts as one though.)

Every August bank holiday weekend sets the scene for the latter. Set over the course of three days the festival is two parts- Reading and Leeds, hence the name. The line up alternates between the two cities (it's not as complicated as it sounds, non-brits!)

Since it's one of the biggest and most well known music festivals I decided to add to my festival recommendations list.
So let's go!

Review | My Little Box August 2016

Where would we be without best friends?
There'd be cringey mirror selfies, no ridiculous inside jokes, no one to make dumb decisions with, no laughing until you're crying, no one to lean on when life gets tough, and no one to support when adulthood gets real.

Girl Friends. I think we often take those real female friends for granted a lot. August's My Little Box is all about us girls supporting each other, how we work well together and how, when we stand together, can help one another achieve our dreams. Let's celebrate girl power!

Boardmasters 2016 | My Recommendations.

Every August, thousands of people descend onto the UK's surf capital to checkout Boardmasters. Five days of surf, sun, skating and music will take over Cornwall's famous beaches this weekend.

My cousin and I went a few years back, and this summer will be my brother's second time. A festival not to be missed, Boardmasters offers skateboarding, BMX and surfing competitions which are chock full of pros.
The main music section is at Watergate Bay,and has played host to the likes of Ed Sheeran and Snoop Dog. Whilst Fistral Beach offers the comps and The Beach Sessions, intimate evening gigs right on the beach.
The surfing comps have recently been added to the World Qualifying Series, so be sure to pay attention on that front.
The Surf Village on Fistral Beach offers signings with the pros, a market area where you can sample local delights and competitions that you can take part in. (Don't worry they won't get you doing complicated skate tricks -I won a hula hoop competition there) As well as Surf Art, photography and film sessions.
Add in your very own surf lesson and this is a jam packed weekend that should not be missed.

I've posted below my recommendations music wise.

Peas In A Pod.

At the weekend my cousin/ best friend/ twin/ pea-in-a-pod came down with her boyfriend.
Jodie and Lewis live in Yorkshire so we only get to see each other once maybe twice a year if we're lucky. So when we do see each other we have to make the most of it. Fun skateboarding adventures, trips to cities, eating our body weight in the most unhealthiest foods we can find and laughing all the time.
My mum calls us peas in a pod because we look like each other, there's only a years age difference and we have a lot in common.
The photos above are from a disposable camera I had almost finished so we took the skateboards and went down the beach for breakfast on their first morning here.

Review | My Little Box July 2016

When summer rolls around, what's the one craze you always see? Easy. Coconuts.
Year after year you smell that gorgeous exotic scent. Whether it's in your sun cream or beauty products, it's undeniably there.
Recently, however, the craze has gone year round. Coconuts are multi-functional. Incredible for your skin, hair, health and even your food.
These tropical guys are versatile and all kinds of glorious. Which is why My Little Box have dedicated a whole box to them.

Warped Tour 2016 | My Recommendations.

Last year I made a list of bands on Warped Tour that I thought you should check out if you were going. (Or not going -you can still check them out!)
This years line up is amazing.
So many incredible bands are playing that it was hard for me to narrow it down to just a few. If you live in America/Canada and you're going to the tour, go see these artists for me whilst I sit at home in miserable England.
Thanks.
